My Dream Wedding

I dreamed about my wedding day for years. Immediately after he proposed and I said yes, I got started making all the plans. I pulled out the picture of my fairy tale dress and researched where I can order it. I contacted the reception hall I longed to use to learn all their available dates. I am eagerly awaiting my special day!

So when my fiancé and I started talking more about where we would live and how many children we planned to have, I didn’t realize how far off we were. How could he think that I would live across the country away from my family and friends! I started getting nervous. Did I make a mistake? He has to be the one!

Before I got married, my husband and I did not have those conversations before the wedding. I just assumed that my married life would look like my parents’ life. While I was growing up, we usually ate dinner together as a family, and we went to church together. Well, that was not the same in my husband’s house. So it took some time after we got married to mesh our lives into something that pleased both of us.

In the articles over the past few weeks, the topics have centered on spending time in your relationship to better select your perfect match. We have given you tips on choosing a boyfriend and topics to discuss with your boyfriend to determine if he is husband material for you.

However, if you follow all the tips and hold all the conversations, it does not guarantee that you will have a perfect marriage nor does it ensure that you won’t get divorced. But it can help you make a wise choice, and reduce the headaches and arguments during your marriage.  But the main point is to keep Christ center in your life and in your decision process for your husband.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight. Proverbs3:5-6
