Incredible Love Life
The Bible tells of a conversation Jesus had with a woman who came to the well alone because, many believe, she was an outcast. While she seemed initially suspicious, Jesus’ request for a drink of water led to a lively revealing dialogue. After claiming to be able to quench her eternal thirst—which she did not fully grasp—He instructed her to go and call her husband. She confessed that she had none. Jesus’ response was in essence, “Yeah Right.” You have had five husbands, and the man you have now is not your husband. Notice – Jesus neither condemned nor put her down. Rather, He spoke in such a direct and truthful way that He, Himself, immediately became the DYNAMIC number seven man in her life.
When a woman has Jesus as her Savior and constant Friend, she no longer needs to fear a man’s rejection and its accompanying loneliness and grief. Sure a break up will still hurt but she will not feel hopeless.
Looking at this “chance” encounter, we see the appearance of Jesus in her life as opportunity for a good strong, loving relationship for the rest of her life. Her relationship with Jesus brought peace, serenity and stability to a once troubled individual. Her life became fulfilled. She met a man Who would not leave or forsake her. Her deep void was filled. True contentment appeared. Isaiah 54:5 became her personal testimony: “For thy Maker is thine Husband; the LORD of hosts is his name.”
