Joyful for New Life!
There is so much expectation when someone is about to carry their baby. There is the waiting, the developing unborn child, the planning, and the signs of new life along the way. A new birth brings families and communities together. The joy of the pregnancy, the joy of telling your closest friends and family, the joy of planning, nesting, and decorating. The joy of all the preparation. Family and friends come together to show support.
After what seems like forever, a new little life makes its appearance. For centuries the world awaited the birth of one special baby. At Christmas we celebrate the birth of that baby. It is a joyful season of giving and enjoying community. Why so much joy over the birth of this one baby boy? The angels proclaimed His birth, “… I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord” (Luke 2:10 – 11). God’s Christmas gift to you is His Son the Lord Jesus Christ. He came that you might have eternal life and that you and I might have life more abundantly.
God’s Christmas gift births new life. God is waiting for us to accept Him as Lord and Savior. He is waiting for us to be “Born Again” and to experience the new life we can have in him.
Christmas brings us so much more Santa, Christmas trees and shopping. It reminds us of the greatest gift of all, Jesus!
