Holy Racism? Part II
Continued from yesterday…Meanwhile God was working His own plan.
I can still remember the day that letter came with an invitation to speak at the church where I was once rejected fifteen years before. Tears flooded my eyes. I gathered my thoughts to be able to share from my heart. When that day came I arrived at the church and was ushered to the pulpit of all places. For the first time in my many years of speaking, my knees shook and my hands sweat. After the introduction my feet drew my body to a once forbidden place, but I felt a familiar presence that spoke through me.
Twenty minutes passed so fast as the attentive audience froze in time. Tears streamed down my face as I ended the message with: “I stand in this place today not because of a demonstration, or the passing of the Civil Rights Bill, but because of the love of Jesus Christ.” The pastor and I became friends that day, and more invitations would follow as our hearts became one because of our love for the Savior. This moment in time is in the midst of a larger story. Tomorrow comes, people change, and life plays out in ways we could never imagine. Even if you do not think about God, He is always thinking about you. He wants your story and His-story to intersect for eternity.
