Campaign Occupy
The Occupy campaign faces incredible odds. According to one website the protesters are “fighting back against the corrosive power of major banks and multinational corporations over the democratic process, and the role of Wall Street in creating an economic collapse that has caused the greatest recession in generations.” I say they face incredible odds because their enemy eludes their grasp taking the form of a massive concept rooted in God knows what, literally.
The Occupy protesters want to cure the manifestations of wanting a godless world without a true remedy. Remember the game where you try to hit the groundhog’s head when he popped it up only for him to pop up somewhere else. The groundhog of greed rearing his ugly head represents one of a list of social ills.
“They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy.” Romans 1:29-31
Though the outlook seems dismal we can still put up a fight, but we wrestle not against flesh and blood. We should be upset because the previous generations have allowed the spiritual corrosion of our country, which is creating the moral collapse that has caused the greatest spiritual recession perhaps in our country’s history. Let’s take the Occupy campaign to church and trying occupying the pews.
