Politics: Fear of the Future pt.2 by Lauren D. Smith

I know all of the people who desire to vote for Obama may fear a future in which Romney becomes President and vice versa. As I have stated in my previous article, should we put our total trust in the government as believers? Should it really matter if a believer chooses to vote for Romney or Obama?
Sometimes when we as believers are affected by the government or by the norms of the world, we start to forget Christ. Christ promised us that He would never leave us and He gave us His Spirit so He dwells within us. Don’t forget! He is the reason why we are still living on the Earth. Without His sacrifice, none of us would be here, believer or non-believer. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” But then Matthew 6:26 says, “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”

So put your future into the Lord’s hands because He has already proven Himself to be what He said He is. Believe me. It will release some of the anxiety you may have from the possible outcome of the election. Trust God!
