A Friendly Get Together
My friends are coming over, I can’t wait! Most people my age are wondering what we are going to have to drink at the party, but not my friends. We love spending time together, especially during the summer when we don’t have to worry about school and homework, tests or a project that is due soon. Now we can just spend time together dancing, eating, playing games and just getting to know each other better.
Alcohol can sometimes get in the way of that. Some people don’t realize how much they have had and they lose control of what they say and do. For others, they cannot remember how much fun they had because they don’t remember anything at all! How is that fun? I enjoy laughing every time something comes to mind that happened at our most recent get together.
Spending time like this allows my friends and me to really get to know each other and we find out really interesting things about each other that we might not know otherwise. For example, one of my friends enjoys biking and I have always wanted to start varying my exercise so I am going to join him one day. My other friend loves to read so we are going to swap our favorite books. I love cooking, so my friends and I share recipes. The summertime allows us the opportunity to forge great friendships!
Ephesians 5:18 says: Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.
