An Endless List of Thanksgiving
As you reflect on your life, what is your conclusion? Do you feel that you have reasons to be grateful or are you dismayed? I hope grateful, but for those who may feel dismayed, let me try to raise your level of appreciation. Perhaps each of us, at one time or another, has felt hopeless about life circumstances. However, we may have discovered when we changed our perspective, we felt a sense of comfort and, perhaps, thankfulness.
I can personally attest that though I have had to overcome obstacles and disappointments in life I remain thankful to God, my Creator, for His wonderful blessings granted to me. Allow me to list a few reasons why I can remain grateful despite my circumstances:
- Life – As is stated in Psalm 139:14, I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Each of you can claim this as your personal testimony because you are also.
- Necessities of life – God has fulfilled his promise as stated in Matthew 6:25-34. He knows of what we have need (food, shelter, clothes).
- Salvation – I can never leave this out. John 3:16 tells us that we are offered a great life beyond our present one if we accept Jesus as our Savior.
I could go on and on listing things for which I am grateful like good health, a wonderful family and living in the United States, the land of the free. If you can’t think of any, here are a few: a heart that still beats, lungs that breathe, and a mind to think. All that we have God has given us. Intentionally, be thankful and turn your dismay into gratefulness.
