Love in Action

Spread the love

When we talk about love, for most of us, the first thing that comes to mind is our boyfriend, or spouse. But there are many people we love. We talk, laugh, cry, make plans, vacation, etc, with people we love. These people aren’t only the people we are dating. We love our families and our friends as well as the men in our lives.

This Valentine’s day consider focusing not only on your romantic relationship but also on family and friends too by showing them love. As children, we handed out valentines to the class. Maybe instead, hand out valentines to your friends. Give them chocolate and a word of encouragement. Express something that you like about your friend and let them know how much their friendship means to you. Don’t do it just so they can say something back to you, but merely do it to lift their spirits. Focus some energy on someone who will be there for you when your relationship is over, you had a bad day, or you just need someone to sit and spend time with you.

The Bible says in Romans 12:9-10 “ Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” Always remember, love is an action word.
