Steadfast Truths in a Changing Society
TV shows have changed over time. We have gone from family focused shows like the Cosby Show to shows where premarital sex is the norm with lots of relationship drama. We are now seeing a new trend in America as TV relationships include homosexual relationships. Not only do shows like Modern Family portray homosexual families, but teenage shows, like Pretty Little Liars on ABC family, also have homosexual couples. The result is we become desensitized and accept homosexual relationships as a viable alternative to heterosexual relationships.
Change starts slowly and as it begins we might not even realize what is happening. We just slowly begin accepting it as ok. Then we start questioning what God really meant. Did He really say that homosexuality is wrong? Yes, just like He said lying, cheating, stealing, adultery, premarital sex, and murder are wrong. No one sin is more severe than another in His eyes. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 9:9-10 “Don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be deceived: No sexually immoral people, idolaters, adulterers, or anyone practicing homosexuality, no thieves, greedy people, drunkards, verbally abusive people, or swindlers will inherit God’s kingdom.”
If you find that you are in a homosexual relationship, ask God to help you find a way out. If you know someone in a homosexual relationship, in love, present this truth to them. Don’t be deceived. You can do anything with God’s help.
