The Pursuit of Love by Wanda Fulton

Love seems to be the one thing that everyone is seeking. We look around, and we see how much fun couples are having, and how in love they are with each other, and we realize that type of love is missing from our lives…and so we pursue it, and sometimes we force it just so we can say we’re in love. You knew when you met him that he wasn’t the one, but you continued the relationship anyway. It was something to do and you thought it was better than being alone. So many times we have settled instead of choosing to wait for our soul mate. Always in a hurry like it’s some kind of race or competition. I know that it’s not easy to wait, but it is in the waiting that your character is built. Let’s face it, we all simply want to love and be loved, but do we really know what love is? In I Corinthians 13: 4-7 love is described as being patient and kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes and always perseveres. Only God can teach us to love like that. Now that’s the kind of love I’m willing to wait for. Will you?
