A New Year, A New You
Hearing the song Auld Lang Syne is almost a given when the clock strikes midnight on the last day of the year. It represents forgetting the old and bringing in the new. With a new year comes new beginnings and people making resolutions to become better. Many times when making new year resolutions, there is a resurgence in energy and hope. Unfortunately the renewed sense of purpose and excitement often dwindles after a while. It takes perseverance to continue to strive for something that you really want, even after it has lost its luster. You have to find the kindle to keep the passion burning to your new beginning. Dare to embark upon a fresh start.
Anything worth having is worth working for. Clarity, reflection, and repentance revives your spirit. In your new venture to begin again, allow God to order your steps and help you make the right choices. Let your daily prayer be “create in me a clean heart and renew the right spirit within me”. Psalm 51:10 Don’t let your past hold you down. God is a forgiving God. Be positive and believe that you can achieve your dreams.
Know that this new year is your chance toward a new you. Accomplish the goals you have set out to do. Work hard to obtain them and never give up. Your rejuvenation may jumpstart another person who is thinking of giving up and throwing in the towel.
