To Be Rescued From an Empty Life

Have you ever experienced a feeling of emptiness–like something was missing, but you can’t quite figure out what it is? I have. I grew up in an established family–Mom and Dad, and seven (7) children. As we grew older my mother, who was spiritually-minded, realized there was another aspect of life to which we needed to be introduced. She told us how one day, early on in her life, she had made a huge step– she had accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior. She made sure that we went to Sunday school and church. However, I would leave church feeling just as empty as I felt when I entered because maybe I was too young to comprehend the Word of God.

While I was still a young girl, God sent a preacher and his wife, who were very knowledgeable in the Word of God. They began to teach and preach the Word in a way that I could understand better. What a God-send! As I matured and reflected on what I had been taught, I began to yearn more for spiritual growth. One of my coworkers invited me to visit her church, which after a few persuasions, I did. Eventually, I joined the church. There, God continued grooming me in His Word, causing me to surrender my life to Him in obedience through accepting Jesus as my Savior and acknowledging the power of the Holy Spirit within me.

Since I committed my ways to Christ, the emptiness that I once felt turned into joy and fullness. I now realize that there is a part of our being that can be filled only by God. When we surrender in sincerity the true meaning of life will be revealed. If you have not taken that step, I implore you to jump on board and exchange the emptiness for fullness of joy and enjoy the blessings.
