America, and even some churches, seem to have accepted same sex relations as a norm, but is this in line with God’s word?

The second chapter of Genesis, the first book in the Bible verses 18-25 state that God created a man (Adam) and a woman (Eve) to maintain the Garden of Eden and to name the beasts of the field and fowl of the air. They were to cleave to each other as man and wife. One of the purposes for which God created a man and a woman is to reproduce and replenish the earth with offspring.

Due to sin entering the world, as described in Genesis chapter 3, eventually humankind has changed the relationship standards of men and women. Men began lusting for men and women for women. Genesis 19, beginning at verse 4 tells us about the men sought after other men and how God eventually destroyed the city. Among the reasons God destroys the city is because of the people’s sexual sins. Their actions were not sanctioned by God.

To understand what the Bible says about same sex relations, one can refer to Romans 1, verses 24-32 which warn us about such unnatural desires. This chapter ends with a warning to all who commit such, as well as those who approve. 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 give a list of sins, if not repented of, that will prohibit a person from eternal life with God. Included in that list are those with same sex attractions. Let it be said, verse 11 says, “Such were some of you, but you are washed, but you are cleaned-up by the Spirit of God.” While same sex attraction is a sin, it is not an unpardonable sin

We see that God’s word does not condone same sex relations. If you struggle with your understanding of God’s position on same sex relations, seek God for understanding and it shall be granted in the name of Jesus.
