90 Days? Really?
Steve Harvey begins chapter eleven of Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man with what I am sure he thinks is a brilliant analogy of the beautiful expression of intimacy God has given to men and women to “become one.” He says that if a business can make an employee wait ninety days for health benefits then women should make men wait the same amount of time to have sex with them. Is that not offensive?
Even if you do not have a relationship with God through Jesus Christ and you have decided to have sex before you get married, there are no good rules available to you on how to conduct yourself outside of the will of God. Anything you do that does not line up with His will ultimately leads to self-destruction. We may not recognize it at the time but it is a rule as concrete as growing old.
If the truth be told, we want to have sex just as much as men do. The question then becomes, “Why not have sex until marriage?” Jesus said, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow Me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.” (Mark 8:34,35)
Steve Harvey wants to give you a set a rule to get a man. God wants to transform you so that you can get a Life.
