One of a Kind
In the beginning, after God created each piece of the heavens, earth and all the living beings, He examined His handiwork and stated “It is good.” I imagine God taking the time to carefully admire us, just like our parents did when we were young and all dressed up, and sitting, smiling, with a warm heart thinking about all He has accomplished in us. Not just seeing the outer beauty we possess, but knowing who He created us to be.
At times I wonder what does God see in me? I am not as skinny as everyone else, and I am not as tall, my hair seems to have a mind of its own while everyone else’s hair is always in place, my feet are flat, my nails are chipped, and the list goes on. I see all the faults I have, and there are many. But when I focus on my faults, I fail to see my beauty and worth.
But God sees me differently. He has a special plan for me, something only I can achieve. My uniqueness is on purpose. I need to celebrate my differences instead of letting them weigh me down. I am fearfully and wonderfully made!
