An Escape into Real Love

Spread the love

When I went to college I fell “into” the temptation of having sex like many of my peers. I had grown up in the church and understood that was not what God wanted before marriage. Soon after college, and before I got married, I became pregnant. I had a job and felt confident about supporting myself and my child financially. I struggled emotionally with being pregnant by myself and the thought of potentially raising a child alone. Thankfully, my boyfriend and I married after the baby was born, but not following God’s plan affected my relationship with God and took a toll on my reputation in the church.

If you are tempted to follow ideas that are opposite of God’s will, I encourage you to get to know Jesus for yourself. With the power of His love so you are able to withstand temptation.  God provides a way out of temptation if you look for it and when you find the way out, run towards it. Your way out may be a different group of friends, or even being content without a boyfriend while waiting for the one Jesus sends to you.

Even though I yielded to the temptation, I asked God for forgiveness and watched God care for me. That’s the indescribable extent of God’s love. Even after my disobedience, He still loves me with my flaws and uses me to introduce others to Christ. What He did for me, He wants to do for you too. Ask Him to come into your life and invite Him into your heart.

1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
