Lady Like?
I am reading Act Like A Lady, Think Like A Man by Steve Harvey. A while ago I had a friend who would repeatedly refer to this book so I decided to check it out for myself since this month’s blogs are on relationships. Harvey’s book idea originated from a radio program where he opened the phone line for callers to ask him anything. Eventually, he says, a theme began to surface which was women seeking advice about men and relationships.
Harvey’s observation remembers my clueless days. I still don’t know as much as I would like to know but at least I currently have a gauge on my general direction. But for a while life seemed to lack the basic instructions I needed to get a clue. The people that flock to shows like Steve Harvey’s are looking for the clues to life that seem to elude us all sometimes, leaving us confused.
It’s the same picture painted in Matthew 9:36 when Jesus, seeing the people feels compassion for them, because they were distressed and dispirited like sheep without a shepherd. The panoramic scene is of Jesus healing and ministering in the midst of a crowd when He looks out and sees the shear number of those in need compared to people who are willing to help them.
I have just started reading Harvey’s attempt to help us heal our relationship troubles. I hope it’s worth the journey. Stay tuned. Where do you go to get good solid advice?
